Happy Birthday, Iggy Azalea! The Australian singer turned 25 on June 7, and has much more than just a birthday to celebrate this year. With a recent engagement to NBA star Nick Young, Iggy must be on cloud nine!
The big 2-5! Iggy Azalea is another year older, and officially off the market. Nick Young, 30, popped the question to Iggy during his 30th birthday on June 1. Iggy quickly took to her Instagram to share the exciting news writing, “Happiest Day #Isaidyes.” Besides her BIG engagement news (and ring), there were many other huge moments this year for Iggy. Lets take a look back, shall we?
New boobs for, Iggy! Yep, during her eventful year, the Aussie singer decided to go under the knife to get breast implants. The best part of it all was how open she was about the experience. During her Vogue‘s April 2015 issue, Iggy opened up about her decision. “I did change something: Four months ago, I got bigger boobs! I’d thought about it my entire life,” Iggy told Vogue. “I decided I wasn’t into secret-keeping.”
The 2015 Billboard Music Awards were another shining moment from Iggy’s year. The singer hit the stage on May 17 with the one and only, Britney Spears, where the two performed their fabulous song, “Pretty Girls.” The blonde babes also teamed up to film the 80’s inspired music video for the song, which was released on May 13. Not only did Iggy star in the video alongside Brit, but she also debuted her directorial skills for the first time for this particular project. “I’m gonna be co-directing the video next week,” Iggy told Access Hollywood about the collaboration. “So that’s been awesome, not only just getting to work with [Britney] and write the song, but being able to have something to do with the visual… It’s just been great. It’s just been an honor that she would let me do that for her, so I’m super excited.”
For the May cover of Marie Claire, Iggy was one of the lucky ladies who landed on the cover! As she was named one of the Fresh Faces of 2015, she was joined by joined Felicity Jones, Zoë Kravitz,Hailee Steinfeld, and Kate Upton for the magazines multi-cover issue. Such a stunning cover photo!
Sadly, with success comes the army of haters. Unfortunately this was something Iggy had to deal with this year. After being body shamed on social media. “Just got back from a great vacation, came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol,”Iggy wrote on Twitter in February. The negativity was so bad Iggy actually decided to quit Twitter! People can be so mean. We love you, Iggy!
